A new initiative from Media Studies Unit (Ministry of Home Affairs), the Home Team News website plays as an online newsroom and internet magazine to share news, department’s initiative and reports with the public. It also aims to build an online community of people who take a stake in Singapore’s safety and security.
The website design presents a strong identity of Ministry of Home Affairs and on top of that, the highly flexible content management system that we developed allows reporters to manage website content such as text, photos and video easily.

Insight
This campaign was part of National Environmental Agency’s (NEA) broader plan of creating a Clean & Green Singapore. The goal was to encourage song-writers to write a song about a cleaner greener world, so as to inspire others and spread an “eco” message.
The objective was to reach out to both professional songwriters as well as youths to encourage them to participate in the contest.
Ideas
Carbon was engaged as NEA’s creative and marketing partner to execute the entire campaign from start to finish. This included working alongside the client to spread the message through traditional and online media, direct marketing to music schools, forging partnerships with institutions, managing social media campaigns and so on! Much effort was also put into the creative treatment for the campaign. A youthful, vibrant, grungy vibe was used in all creative collaterals to attract the attention of the primary target audience – youths.
Aside from just print and on air advertising, focus was also directed towards digital avenues such as a series of viral videos on the internet and a strong Facebook initiative.
Impact
This was a great project for us to work on and we thoroughly enjoyed the process and working relationship with our client. Initial responses to this campaign has been really great. We also had a lot of fun in the middle of Orchard Road on a Saturday when we readied the viral part of the campaign, doing our part for a cleaner, greener world! We are excited to see more entries so keep your creative juices flowing and start sending in your entries! Check us out on the Facebook page.

This was one of our dream projects! Being able to craft a site to contribute to the food scene in Singapore. Yummy. Conceptualised jointly with the National Environment Agency, the vision of the site was to allow Singaporeans to find their favourite food stalls easily, rate them and add their comments. The site features include a wiki that allows users to update the store locations and other relevant information. Thus, have no fear no more that your favorite hawker stall has moved and you know not where they have moved to! There is now collective intelligence to hunt these stores down. You are also able to rate your favourite hawker centre in this site. So come visit the site and build this “foodie” community.
